Machine Learning on the Factory Floor
Join Dr. Xiao Yang at Venture Cafe's Thursday Gathering on September 5th to find out how computer vision is being used to monitor analog gauges and deliver digital readouts.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) are unique on their own, but what makes them even more interesting is where they intersect.
In a talk presented in partnership with Prepare.ai, Dr. Xiao Yang, Director of Machine Learning at Object Computing, Inc. (OCI), demonstrates how his team digitized analog gauge data to enable automated readings from a remote location, alleviating the need to dispatch a crew to read gauges manually.
This innovative solution offers utility, manufacturing, and energy companies a wealth of benefits, including:
- Remote diagnosis of problems
- Optimized maintenance timelines
- Failure prediction and prevention of outages
- Ability to prolong the life of aging industrial equipment
- Ability to easily calculate return on investment of new hardware
