Venkat Subramaniam will be Guest Lecturing at OCI in March and May of 2016!

Dr. Venkat Subramaniam is known for his contagious enthusiasm and passion for software development. As a truly polyglot programmer, he believes in mastering technologies that improve robustness and productivity, irrespective of their source, and putting them to effective use. He is the founder of Agile Developer, Inc., and an instructional professor at the University of Houston who has mentored tens of thousands of software developers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

OCI is extremely pleased to be partnering with Dr. Subramaniam in providing cutting edge training to software developers.

Courses covered will include Java 8 and Reactive Programming.

Java 8

Dr. Subramaniam will be delivering this course in OCI's Education Center. This three-day intensive workshop begins March 7 and runs through March 9. Hurry and register to save your seat!

Java is arguably one of the most widely used languages. This popular language is going through a makeover. This will have a significant impact on how programmers will code and design applications with Java. With the introduction of lambda expressions and method references in Java 8, we can now make use of functional stye of programming.

Reactive Programming

OCI hosts Dr. Subramaniam in our Education Center in this 2 day workshop starting May 9 and running through May 10. Get a jump on the competition and save your seat now!

Reactive programming is gaining a lot of attention. A combination of some fundamental approaches—functional programming, event based programming, loose coupling, and error resilience—to mention a few have come together as a set of tools to create highly responsive and performance applications. This course will help developers get up to speed about creating reactive applications using Akka.

Each course has a good balance of interactive lectures and hands-on exercises. The attendees are expected to pair-up and work together on the lab exercises.
